THE WORD BEFORE
Lidia, Cătălin - from your brief I understood one thing very clearly: you don't just want a restaurant. A place that functions as a restaurant by day, turns into a lounge by night, and becomes a place of energy, music and socializing. A place where people come for the atmosphere, not just for consumption.
PROJECT CONCEPT
We conceived Smart Lago as a succession of experiences.
From the restaurant area - calm, bright, open,
to the bar area - the social center of the space,
and further on to the pontoon lounges - intimate, relaxed, close to the water.
Everything is linked by a coherent language of materials, light and proportions.
PROJECT MATERIALS
We have built this experience with materials that send directly to the Mediterranean:
exotic hardwood decking in warm tones
travertine - natural, textured, elegant
off-white micro-cement - for light and calm
mature vegetation - centuries-old olive trees, giving authenticity to the place
Mediterranean-influenced furniture - airy, cozy, natural
rattan lighting fixtures - for warm, diffused, evening light
Everything is designed to work in natural light, but especially in golden hour and evening -
when the place becomes truly special.
I. THE CENTRAL ELEMENT - THE BAR
The bar becomes the heart of the project.
A sculptural volume of exotic wood, glass and travertine,
is not only functional, but becomes the focal point of the entire space.
Next to him - the DJ desk.
Not hidden. Not secondary.
Part of the experience.
Because music is not an add-on - it's the identity of the place.
II. PONTON AREA
On the pontoon, we've created lounge areas with yarn pits -
seating, conversation, evening spaces.
Places where time slows down.
Where you're no longer in a restaurant.
You're in a state.
III. RESTAURANT AREA
The bioclimatic pergola in RAL 2000 - red orange -
is an intentional gesture.
It is that element that breaks the silence, that brings energy,
that transforms the place from "beautiful" to "memorable".
It is the young, brave signature that sets Smart Lago apart from any other place in the city.
CONCLUSION
With this project, we didn't just create a design.
We brought a kind of experience that currently doesn't exist in Craiova
and very rarely in Romania.
Smart Lago is the kind of place that people choose the destination for.
It's not just going out.
It's a place that will become a landmark.
A place to be photographed, recommended and remembered.
And, most importantly -
a place that people will want to come back to.
